6th Place 2016 “Palm Beach Sailfish Classic”

The first of the seasons sailfish tournaments is behind us. The 2016 Palm Beach Sailfish Classic is our season opener and challenging as always. We were putting final touches on the boat completing our pre-season maintenance. It always takes longer than planned. It was also time for the team to pull it all together again. Except for 1 day of pre-fishing this is the first time we have fished together competitively since last year. The fishing was a little slow for the tournament. The dead bait boats always do well in this tournament vs the live bait guys. Fish caught on dead bait are worth 300 points while fish caught on live bait are worth 200 points. We fished live baits from kites as usual. We were 10/13 on sailfish which put us in 6th place in overall standings at the close of day 2. Up one spot from a 7th place finish last year. Any upward movement is a move in the right direction! Congrats to team “Doing It All/Hardway” for the win! Excellent job!

We are always looking to up our game and as a result have made a few roster changes this year. This years team roster is as follows…

Owner: Larry Druyan
Captain: John Bobnar
First mate: Luke Grogis
Second mate: Dalton Lew
1st angler left: Alex Hausman
1st angler right: Cabe Regnerus
2nd angler left: Ricky Testa
2nd angler right: Andy Dean

The Palm Beach Sailfish Classic benefits the “Make A Wish” foundation making wishes come true for sick children. Such a worthy cause and one I truly believe in. They do great things!

We are feeling confident going into the “Quest For The Crest” series opener “Operation Sailfsih” on December 7th. The teams morale is at all all time high with the crew member changes. A positive attitude is everything! Always forward!
